Soul Investment from Allenna Dean

Heritage Mississauga is delighted to host a new art exhibit in the Debbie Hatch Discovery Centre Gallery at The Grange (1921 Dundas Street West, Mississauga)

 “Soul Investment”
Art Exhibition from Allenna Dean

September 26 to November 3, 2017
Opening reception: Tuesday, September 26, 2017, 6:00 to 8:00 pm
Hosted at The Grange
(1921 Dundas Street West, Mississauga)

Allenna was born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario where she developed her love for nature. Her house overlooked Lac Deschenes, a part of the Ottawa River. Many summer days were spent exploring the marshes and creeks around the water. She also loved being able to see the Laurentian mountains in the distance, with the trees and their ever changing colours.

Allenna graduated in 1981 from Queen’s University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, and then attended the University of Toronto for a Bachelor of Education. She moved to Mississauga in 1984 to teach for the Peel District School board, and retired  three years ago after teaching Visual Art, Drama and English. Now she spends her time riding her horse and painting.

The paintings in this show reflect Allenna’s deep and abiding love for Mother Earth: Her fields, flowers, forest, streams and lakes. This love for nature also extends to animals, both domestic and wild, with feather, fur and fin! Allenna’s intention is to share the joy that she feels when she is connected to nature and animals.

Art work is available for sale. Free admission. The exhibits are open from Tuesday to Friday, 9 am – 5 pm, and until 8 pm on select Tuesdays. For more information please contact Heritage Mississauga at 905-828-8411 x29 or
