Haunted Mississauga 2010: Old Port Credit Heritage Conservation District

Our 9th Annual Haunted Mississauga evening saw us return to the streets of Old Port Credit Heritage Conservation District for an interactive tour featuring a little history and some tall tales from Port Credit’s past  (that actually happened!). The stories ranged from rumrunning, a bank robbery, lost ships, and murders, and failed dreams. Port Credit has a rich a vibrant history, and we encourage you to explore, learn and read about its stories. Contact Heritage Mississauga, the Museums of Mississauga, the Canadiana Room of the Mississauga Central Library, or the Mississauga South Historical Society for more information on the history of Port Credit. The “spirits” from the evening included actors portraying Captain John Miller, Frederick Chase Capreol, Captain Stephen Peer, Catherine Hutchinson, Emily Blower, Eliza Jane Peer Parkinson, Benjamin Brown Lynd, Captain Abram Block, Elizabeth Louise Hare, William Corey, James William Cotton & Ellen Madigan. Special thanks to our volunteer “Spirit Team” of cast and crew who helped to bring the evening to life: Annemarie Hagan, Greg Carraro, Richard Collins, Bob Cutmore, Lindsay Doren, Rosyln Fortier, Brent Gaspar, Evan Gaspar, Jayme Gaspar, Les Gaspar, Fran Goddu, Bryan Ho, Wafeeza Kalamoden, Rose Langley, Chantelle Lindo, Denise Mahoney, Scott Mair, Aidan Ralston, Kel Ralston, Nuzhat Rehman, Sasha Srinivas, Leonard Walsh, Jane Watt, Matthew Wilkinson, Mavis Wilson, Heritage Mississauga, Museums of Mississauga, City of Mississauga Culture Division, Century Audio Visual, Port Credit BIA, and the Port Credit 175 Committee.
