Haunted Mississauga:
An Annual Tradition from Heritage Mississauga

Haunted Mississauga began back in 2002 with a special lecture featuring author Terry Boyle, which, due to its popularity, gradually transformed into tours featuring actors in costume portraying people and events from the past. The event, which in 2011 enters its 10th year, takes place on one evening near the end of October at a different location each year, and is usually held outdoors.

We are always looking for story ideas, potential locations, and volunteer actors! If you would like to be part of Haunted Mississauga, please contact 905-828-8411 ext. 29.

The event features guided “spirited” walks around the location (be a cemetery, park, village or other location) roughly running for 1 hour each. Check back closer to each event for more information on date and tour times.

Space on tours is limited! Tickets are reasonably priced: $5.00 for adults, and seniors and youth under 13 years old are only $3.00. Hot refreshments are also provided.

Haunted Mississauga Feedback:

“I just wanted to email you to say how much my wife and I enjoyed the Haunted Mississauga tour. A special thank you to the re-enactors for bringing those early settlers back to life, even just for one night. Putting a human face in the scene gives us a personal understanding of the hardships they persevered. Makes us appreciate what we have today and not let go of the past. Now we will add Port Credit to our other excellent evening "ghost" tours taken, including Niagara on the Lake, Burlington, Cobourg, Montreal and Quebec City, which (interestingly) all touch the same waterways. Thanks again for a pleasant autumn evening, and keep up the good work.”

“Thank you for a wonderful evening. We really enjoyed the Haunted Mississauga tour in Port Credit, and it help us to understand the story of the community we live in. We have lived here for 7 years, but only now feel that we have an understanding of its history.”
