Heritage Mississauga Annual General Meeting 2018

The Board of Directors of Heritage Mississauga invites you to join us at the offices of Heritage Mississauga ("The Grange", 1921 Dundas Street West) on Tuesday May 15th, 2018 for our Annual General Meeting.

•    Registration is at 6:30pm.
•    The AGM will begin at 7:00pm to discuss essential business including electing our 2018-2019 Board of Directors.

From the early tentative steps of glider and kite flying, to the mighty roar of the massive Saturn rockets, Canadian Aviation began on February 23, 1909, when Canada’s first pilot and the first man to fly in the British Empire, J. A. D. McCurdy, rose majestically into the air from the frozen surface of Bras d’Or Lake, Baddeck, Nova Scotia  in the Silver Dart, an aeroplane he had designed and built with the aid of his fellow associates, who made up the nascent but brilliant Aerial Experiment Association. To unravel the fascinating saga of Canada’s early aviation development, Honourary Colonel Gerald Haddon, who knew his grandfather for the first nineteen years of his life, will reveal how and where the first tantalizing steps were taken.
